Prosthetic, Orthotic and Pedorthic Care

Prosthetics and orthotics are specialties within physical rehabilitation that focus on treating neuromuscular and musculoskeletal disorders. The OrPro prosthetist designs, fabricates and fits prostheses - artificial limbs that replace a part or all of a limb that is missing. The OrPro orthotist designs, fabricates and fits orthoses - braces that support part of the body, such as the spine, neck, knee, foot or wrist.

In addition to prosthetics and orthotics, OrPro also offers pedorthic services.  The OrPro pedorthist provides prescription shoes, footwear modifications and foot orthoses to treat musculoskeletal disorders of the foot.

Prosthetic, orthotic and pedorthic care for pediatric patients is a specialty area of OrPro that meets the unique needs of infants, toddlers and adolescents.

OrPro holds itself to the highest standards of clinical care and technical production.  Our practitioners are state licensed, board-certified and attend continuing education classes to stay current with clinical advancements.  Our technicians are also highly trained, fabricating custom prostheses and orthoses with state-of-the-art production techniques and components.

Philosophy of Patient Care

Communication and education are hallmarks of OrPro’s patient-customer relations.  We discuss treatment options with patients, especially before surgery.  This helps to ensure the patient’s comfort before and after surgery and can help expedite the hospital stay.  We encourage all patients to ask questions about their prosthesis or orthosis so they understand its importance in their overall rehabilitation plan.

Service to Health Care Providers

Our goal at OrPro is to work closely with physicians and other members of the patient’s rehabilitation team to deliver the most coordinated, clinically effective care.  We are available to see patients in our offices, at the physician’s office, or in the hospital.

Our Facilities

All of our patient care facilities are accredited by the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics & Pedorthics, commonly known as ABC.  ABC has been awarded ‘Deemed Status’ as an accrediting organization for suppliers of Durable Medical Equipment, Orthotics, Prosthetics and Supplies (DMEPOS) by Medicare. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) validated ABC’s accreditation program and established ABC accreditation as an approved prerequisite for suppliers of prosthetics, orthotics and pedorthics.
