Choosing a Career with OrPro

“The great thing about working here is the people. Everybody gets along. Practitioners and technicians work as a team on the job.”

Even in a small office, no one works alone. From practitioners, to technicians, to office administrators — in each of our facilities, staff members pull together as a team. We’re proud that many of our personnel have been with us for over twenty years. While pay and benefits have something to do with that — longevity, respect, cooperation and friendship are strong reasons that our people continue to stay.

“Practitioners see a broad range of patients here. And technicians have a lot of different types of jobs to work on.”

Working at an OrPro practice is professionally challenging. Despite differences in size and location, each of our patient care centers has a varied patient base. Practitioners have the opportunity to work with a wide range of patients — pediatric, adult and geriatric — and with a variety of pathological problems as well as trauma cases. Technicians develop proficiency in both plastic and metal bracing and in working with a range of prosthetic systems.

A key reason that our patient base is so varied is that our practices have earned solid support from their local healthcare communities. Our practitioners are involved in numerous O&P clinics at area hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and outpatient facilities. They regularly deliver in-services to physicians, residents and therapists. Our staff are known for their expertise and their commitment to delivering quality care.

“I think benefits and pay here are quite competitive.”

We base compensation both on industry standards and on rates that are competitive in the local community. In addition to salary, we offer a profit-sharing compensation plan.

Our medical, prescription and dental insurance benefits are very flexible. You can select coverage for just yourself, for yourself and your spouse, for yourself and your children, or for your entire family. You also have two levels of plan benefits from which to choose. All full-time personnel are provided with life, accidental death & dismemberment and long-term disability coverage at no cost.

Personnel also earn time-off benefits, such as vacation, sick, and holiday time off with pay.

"Be sure to mention the 401(k). It’s a big plus.”

Our 401(k) plan includes an impressive array of fund options for eligible personnel. You can invest in one of several portfolios that are designed with differing levels of risk. Or, you’re free to design your own portfolio. Equities and fixed income options, such as bonds, money market funds and CDs, are also available. OrPro typically contributes a percent of the staff member’s contribution to his or her account.

“Continuing education benefits here are excellent.”

OrPro offers an expense reimbursement program for practitioners involved in professional organizations such as ABC and BOC.

Certification fees are reimbursed.

Staff members are encouraged to attend professional seminars to learn new techniques and to stay current in state-of-the-art technologies.

Expense reimbursement is also available for technicians seeking or renewing certification in ABC.
